Hunt It Forward ™ Competition Winner

Prize: $1000 Hunters Element Voucher

Ben Draper's Story:

"I’m starting my first year as a school Principal in the rural King Country town of Piopio this year. The government have a big attendance push going on at the moment so the initiative I’m starting this year is all students with attendance above 90% for the term go in the draw to come out on a hunt with me.

The meat will then be processed by our local butcher who has come onboard as a sponsor and we will distribute the meat to all the students who were above 90% attendance for the term. There will be four draws for the four terms.

Being rural outdoor students who love hunting this will hopefully improve attendance but more importantly get kids outdoors learning new skills and then feeding the community".

Father's Day Competition Winner

Prize: $100 Hunters Element Voucher

Adam says:

"Took the young fella out for his first deer hunting trip (as he had promised he could be quiet). I was so impressed as he walked into our target area. I watched as he stepped over sticks and dodge noisy leaves, like he had been doing this for years. I could not believe it. We got into the area and fair enough there were 2 fallow does there. I told him they will go well in the freezer and he just smiled back at me (knowing he had to be quiet). He followed me to the edge of the trees and then very quietly whispered in my ear shoot straight Dad. As you can see he was ecstatic with the result, and has continued to ask every weekend since are we going hunting again this weekend Dad? Think he's caught the bug."
