    Hunting/Hiking Boots FAQs

It’s vital to invest in well-designed boots that will carry you the distance, minimising fatigue and injury, and keeping you dry.

A good hunting boot is one that offers a higher cut than a regular shoe, ensuring you have ankle support on uneven ground, and protecting you from rocks and scree.

The terrain you stick to will help inform the upper material you choose. Our Nubuck leather range (The Element Boot, Zulu Boot and Lima Boot) are suited for all terrain and is highly resistant to the elements.

Our Prowl Boot has a revolutionary (single piece!) woven nylon upper, making it the choice for bush stalking as it is super light and flexible, giving you superior feel of the forest floor.

Our boot range is cleverly engineered for hunting - but they certainly lend themselves to hiking as they are designed to carry you long distances and over challenging terrain.

They are particularly good hiking boots if your hikes take you off trail as their mid-to-high cut keeps you stable on dodgy terrain and their HYDRAFUSE™ REINsoc™ membrane keeps you dry when bashing through a river.

Our Prowl Boot has been designed with bush stalking in mind. Their revolutionary single-piece upper is made from woven nylon which Is super light and flexible. Paired with their VIBRAM® sole, the Prowl offers superior feel of the forest floor and is designed to be quiet – so you can stalk nice and close without snapping twigs and giving the game away.

The Lima Boot is suited for a combination of open field and bush stalking.

The Element Boot is the ultimate all-terrain boot, suitable for any hunter on any hunt. It’s heavy-duty, so if you tackle very demanding country and lug heavy loads, this is the boot for you.

The Zulu boot is similarly well suited for all-terrains and is a great day-in-day-out hunting boot for a variety of hunts.

Yes – all our boots have the HYDRAFUSE™ REINsoc™ waterproof and breathable membrane to keep your feet dry and breathe out moisture.

VIBRAM® is a well-known Italian company who produces world-class rubber soles for outdoor footwear. VIBRAM® soles are renowned for their superior traction, grip and durability, making them our top choice for the soles of our range.

Nubuck leather is a type of top-grain leather (the uppermost layer of the hide) that has been sanded on the grain side to a create soft, velvety finish. This buffing removes the natural grain pattern, so it looks a bit like suede as it produces a short nap.

Despite its soft finish, Nubuck is more durable than suede due to its underlying full-grain leather, and is more water resistant than suede (however, thanks to our range’s HYDRAFUSE™ REINsoc™ membrane, all our boots are waterproof).

It also is relatively breathable, and it looks darn good if we do say so ourselves.

Our boots are in US sizing, and follow this size guide:

Measure from the back of your heel to the end of your longest toe. We recommend getting a size larger than your normal sneaker shoe size – the extra room will help avoid toe pain when sliding down steep terrain. Our boots are available in whole sizes only, so if you are between a size we recommend sizing up.   answer to the question here.

Our Element Boot is compatible with both semi-automatic and universal strap crampons with its TPU CrampLok™ feature.

The rand of a boot is the protective strip on the exterior that sits between the sole and the upper of a boot. Sometimes the rand only covers the toe, or it can extend all the way around the boot.

Our range uses rubber boot rands, which is highly durable and can take a beating from rocks and scree, but is also waterproof.
