Mid-Layers are a key piece of any layering system. Weather you are venturing on a multi-day mid-winter alpine mission, or just a lazy old afternoon spring meat hunt,
a mid-layer will be there to make your time in the wild comfortable, so it's important you've got the right one.
LEGACY JACKET
A hybrid that bridges the middle and outer layers. Blocking out around 90% of the wind, while keeping you warm when glassing and stalking without overheating and breathes remarkably well. Packed with pockets and features to excel in a variety of circumstances.
ZENITH HOOD
A superb insulation layer that breathes out moisture exceptionally well. An integrated hood has a skull cap design to retain extra body heat and fits seamlessly under a jacket hood without adding any uncomfortable bulkiness. Two zippered lower pockets hold essentials and keep your hands warm.
ZENITH TOP
A technical mid-layer with a traditional cut. Well-balanced like the hooded version, utilising the same fabrics to make it a high wicking, breathable top, that regulates your body temperature. A high collar and chest pocket make this a great top for every type of hunt.
WHAKARAPU HOOD
A lightweight, warm, and tough as nails top that's perfect for bush stalking. Integrated adjustable hood. A generous top-loading chest pocket to keep your smaller gear close at hand with an integrated adjustable hood and a stylish and functional, traditional laced neck.

The legacy jacket is water-resistant and treated with a PFC free Durable Water Repellent. It will shed out light rain, but as a mid-layer, it is designed to be paired with an outer layer (such as our Odyssey Jacket V2, Storm Jacket, or Halo Jacket) which are waterproof and designed to handle heavy rain.

The Hunters Element range is based on a 3-layer system: base layer, mid-layer and outer layer. These mid-layers are designed to be worn above our base-layers (such as the Core or Core+ range) and underneath our outer layer jackets which are designed to withstand extreme elements (such as our Odyssey Jacket V2, Storm Jacket, or Halo Jacket).
All three layers used together ensure you warm up, cool down and stay dry for superior performance in the field. The fabric technology in each layer has been thoughtfully designed to best regulate your temperature, breathe out excess heat and sweat, and keep you protected from the harsh elements.

Our base layers, mid-layers and outer layers are designed to be paired with each other – so the sizing has been graded to accommodate that. We recommend buying your usual top size when choosing your mid-layers.
